Community Engagement

We strive to build connected, vibrant, healthy community here in the South Western suburbs.

We do this through:

  • community consultation and co-design of local initiatives
  • collaborative practice
  • running events that celebrate the diversity and talent of our local community
  • coordinating workshops and courses that equip and empower people to reach their potential
  • providing clubs and programmes for children and youth to learn, grow and build relationships in a safe space

Our values

Whakawhanaungatanga – Everything we do is founded upon relationships.  We believe service provision alone is not enough to build wellbeing. It is the relational conditions which accompany services that have the greatest impact on influencing individual and community wellbeing.

Oranga – we take a ‘te whare tapa wha’ approach to oranga.  Health and wellbeing is just as much connectedness and belonging as it is physical health.

Ako – we create a reciprocal learning environment and acknowledge that we all learn from each other.

Building a sustainable future –  we identify community leaders and support them to grow in their leadership.
